April also marks the start of our mosquito season in New Jersey. Did you know that mosquitoes start becoming active when the temperature is consistently 50 degrees? As the temperatures rise higher, the volume of mosquito activity will only increase. During the winter months, some female mosquitoes will find holes to live in while they wait for warmer weather. That means once it is warm enough they will be ready to lay their eggs, and they can lay up to 300 at one time. Mosquitoes aren’t the only pests that are ready to ruin your spring plans. Ticks survive the cold winter months by laying dormant or latching on to a host when it gets too cold.
