Winter is coming!

Temperatures are dropping which means winter is around the corner. Although the first snowfall of the season occurred in November, don’t fret! There is still time to prep your home for the frigid conditions to come. There’s no doubt we will be in for more snow, wind and ice this winter. While mosquitoes and ticks are at bay for the season, our friend and member of our Neighborly family, Mr. Handyman Tri-County, is able to help you winterize your home. Whether it’s repairing a drafty window frame or checking your attic’s insulation, expert repair technicians are there to lend a helping hand with your home improvement projects.

Give those gutters one final clean:

If the surprise snowfall in early November caught you off guard, it’s very possible you didn’t have time to give your gutters a final cleaning before the storm. If your gutters are blocked with leaves and debris, ice and snow will not find an easy way out which could cause damage to your home’s foundation. Plus, as soon as temperatures rise to above 50 degrees, it could be a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Mr. Handyman is able to clean your gutters and repair any damage done by ice, wind or tree limbs.

Keep the cool air out and warm air in:

Did you feel any drafts in your home with the first snow of the season? If so, consider adding weather stripping around your doors and windows to help combat the cold. Whether it’s exterior doors, sliding glass doors, French doors or pocket doors, Mr. Handyman is able to repair air leaks to keep your heat in and the cold out.

Prepare for inclement weather:

Mr. Handyman is able to make sure your home is prepared for all of winter’s unexpected elements. Trained technicians can inspect your furnace and water heater to ensure any necessary preventative maintenance is performed prior to that big cold break or next snowstorm. Additionally, Mr. Handyman can inspect your roof, attic, downspouts and pipes to make sure your home is winter-proof.

Get into the holiday spirit:

The holiday season is the jolliest time of the year – especially when you don’t have to worry about hanging lights or decorating your home. Mr. Handyman can take care of those cosmetic updates while you focus on wrapping presents or baking holiday cookies. Whether it’s adding holiday lighting to your roofline, doorway or walkway or installing seasonal lawn displays, Mr. Handyman is definitely on the top of your “nice” list!
